Reiki Healing - A system of energy healing

I truly believe we (human) posses the ability to heal ourselves. I recently came across Reiki, a Japanese art of healing. It is a energy healing system founded by Dr. Mikao Usui. The origin of Reiki can be traced back thousands of years to the ancient cultures of India, Tibet, China and Japan. The technique was rediscovered in the mid 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan

Reiki Founder, Dr. Mikao Usui

I came across Reiki because I woke up with severe back and neck ache the other day. The pain was so strong, I was stiff as a board and literally couldn't move. I panicked. I have tried this sensation once before, and then I was laid up in bed for two weeks on the heaviest pain-killers until the muscle spasms eased off and I was slowly able to re-gain normal movement without pain. After that I frequented a physiotherapist for six months before my neck felt normal again. So waking up with this kind of pain 4 years later, really scared me. I called my friend, Malin Landaeus who owns a vintage clothing store, and who also happens to be a Reiki Master. I was supposed to help her that day in the morning. So I called to let her know I couldn't make it as I literally couldn't move out of bed.

She was in her car when I called. She said in a calm voice. "Okay,  I am going to drive to your house and give you Reiki." At that point. I just said. "Okay. great, thank you." hung up and thought, this will be interesting... I had no idea what to expect and I almost didn't believe that anything could help me at that point, but I was sure open to give it a try. Anything to get rid of this crazy, stiffness and pain.

So not long after Malin arrived. She asked me to lay on my stomach so she could sit comfortably at the end of the bed. She then placed her hands calmly on the back of the neck. I felt a tingling sensation pretty much the whole time as she moved her hands around very carefully. The session lasted about 40 min. And when she had finished I sat up slightly shaky and slowly realized I had full mobility in the neck. I turned my head slowly to the left, slowly to the right. And I couldn't believe it. She had cured me. For about two days after I was still sore in the neck region, but had full mobility and no pain. Furthermore I ended up going about my daily business that day as normal and felt really energized. In fact this life-force-energy stayed with me for about three days after. It felt like I had been touched by a miracle. And all she did was lay her hands softly on me.

Now I am exited to take her class: Reiki Level One this Spring.
I will recommend this practice to anyone seeking holistic healing. It is natural and so powerful.
And once you know how to do it you can not only easily heal yourself, but others too.

Zeitgeist - Moving Forward

Zeitgeist Moving Forward. Watch and SHARE.

The world as we know it is collapsing. The economic system is a cancer for our planet.
The corporations have one thing and one thing only for eye: PROFIT.
They are not concerned with putting people, animals or the best of the planet first.

We have to stop them. Their obsession for financial expansion, growth and exhaustion of our natural resources cannot last. Only together can we stand up to them and say NO.

There is a fundamental problem with our system. And that is there is no real freedom.
Our liberty has been taken away from us. There is no place to opt out.
It makes me sick to my stomach. Where can I go? Where can I be free?
Please tell me?

The capitalistic consumerism system is polluting the air we breathe, the soil we get our food sources from, the sea and all the wildlife in it, our water supplies are poisoned and the health industries are filling us with pills we do not need. In fact it is in their best interest to keep us ill, so they can profit from our consumption of medical treatments.

Meanwhile governments and capitalistic corporations are keeping valuable knowledge about solutions and treatments from us. They control the media and the entertainment industry. It is insane.

We the people have to come together and demand our human rights and liberty.

It is time to wake up and stand together.

We have to demand a world where everyone is free.

A global world - One Earth - United - Loving and caring for each other.

A beautiful colorful tribe.

Please share your ideas and thoughts. Thank you.

I love you all regardless

The Gerson Therapy

It never seizes to amaze me what knowledge is out there. Today I spent the whole day learning about the Gerson Therapy, named after Max Gerson a German physician (1881–1959). He suffered from terrible migraine headaches through his early 20s and through dietary self-testing found a cure. To his astonishment he found that this dietary treatment also cured other illnesses, including many forms of cancer, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, high blood pressure etc.

I just watched close to 30 personal accounts of people who had been cured of cancer and other chronic, degenerative diseases, that the general authoritative medical industry had no cures for.

The Gerson Therapy is simple. Eat healthy organic produce as part of an all vegetarian diet. Cut out toxins and preservatives. Drink lots of juices (one every hour of the day) and take coffee enemas. That's it. What a wonderful, powerful cure straight from mother nature. (Be advised to seek professional help with this treatment from an authorized Gerson center though! )

All these people's testimonials have one thing in common, they were offered no solutions from the authoritative medical world other than pills, operations and chemotherapy, all of which offers no cure to cancer. It is unbelievable and sad that the ruling medical authorities do not acknowledge real holistic results. After all the health industry should be as much about promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing illness as treating illnesses.

The Gerson Therapy is not recognized by the ruling medical world. In fact it is illegal in America according to wikipedia. That is why the Gerson Institute and treatment center is based in Mexico.

What does bureaucratic evidence matter when you have real people telling real stories of full recovery?  And doctors have the before and after documentation, but still do not want to know about the treatment?

Is there some oath you take when you become a doctor to only support the corporate world and their medical products?

There is something fundamentally wrong with the way our world has developed. Profit and million dollar industries dictate the status quo. What happened to the people's best interests?

We need a total reformation of the medical practices. Lets say no to treating symptoms, i.e. numbing the pain. We want holistic treatments that look at us as a whole. Our bodies are complete bio-dynamic systems and the Earth and all the food that comes from it has an immediate effect our health.

If you pollute the air, the soil, the sea, the food we eat and the water we drink with deadly toxins of course we are going to get ill. Of course thousands of species and animals are dying everyday, including humans. We are part of the whole biosphere. We are part of nature, although we like to think ourselves above it.

Lets stand together and tell our governments and the corporations we do not want to eat food that is pumped full of toxins, additives and preservatives. We want organically grown vegetables that has all of the natural vitamins, minerals and enzymes that are good for us and keeps us healthy, provides well-being and longevity. Not just for us, but for the wildlife and planet too.

You can read more about the Gerson Therapy and the remarkable work of Charlotte Gerson, Max Gerson's daughter, who founded the Gerson Institute and work tirelessly to share information about the therapy and treat people at the Gerson center.

Below is a 6-hour talk by Charlotte Gerson about the Gerson Therapy. It is very informative although a long watch.

There is also a great more recent documentary film, called The Beautiful Truth available on YouTube.

PATTI SMITH - Just Kids

Please can someone send me a copy of Just Kids!!

I celebrated new years eve in the company of Patti Smith. She was playing at the Bowery Ballroom, a great venue in the Lower East Side. What a show. The concert got me so ecstaticly happy, I couldn't help but get a little too drunk. I was just glad from my feet to my brow I couldn't help it, honestly.

There is something about Patti. Her energi and honesty. Her poetry.
What a remarkable contribution to humanity's cultural heritage. She is a living icon, a woman (not least) and a New York darling. So glad I got to experience her magic. Even at the age of 65 she was at the top of her game.

Patti Smith is so God damned AMAZING. She is raw power, she is real, she is so rock n roll and inspiring beyond words. She is such a beautiful poet and human being. Musically it was a brilliant journey, great band and wonderfully song by Patti with small anecdotes from the every day life delivered with lots of POWER TO THE PEOPLE moments.

If there was ever a book on my wish-list this is it...  JUST KIDS

INSPIRATION #10 Bikram Yoga

The mind, body, soul connection is one of the most important aspect of a healthy human life. I have had the good fortune of trying out different types of physical exercises over the years. Throughout my teens it was basket ball that was my one and all. Besides swimming, gymnastics, badminton and tennis.

When I tired of spending most of my time in sports centers, and gained interest in other forms of social activities, I started running for exercise. Because I grew up with sport I found that my body needed some form of heavy physical exercise. In my mid twenties I discovered yoga along with a lot of my friends. The yoga wave seems to be flourishing everywhere on the planet at the moment, which is very exciting.

Some take to yoga easily and others who are less subtle (like me) find it rather hard and un-relaxing to begin with. Luckily I got through that initial phase of pain and had a steady period of practicing Astanga Yoga whilst living in Copenhagen, Denmark. Astanga is a harder form of yoga which builds strength and flexibility simultaneously.  But when I moved back to London my practice faded and it was expensive for me to continue, so it stopped.

Now however I am living in New York and have found a Bikram Yoga studio close by: Bikram Williamsburg. Now before I start raving about Bikram here is a short introduction below...

BIKRAM ! !  I love it. From my first session I was hooked. The hot room makes you sweat like a pig, but you move much faster into the positions and get further into the positions quickly. The hot room also protects your muscles and allows you to build strength and flexibility and prevent injuries. It is the absolute best form of yoga I have tried. It is also extremely meditative and you grow in focus every time.

Out of two months of practicing Bikram I have seen the biggest change in my body I have ever achieved in such a short space of time. I feel amazing and energized throughout the day after a Bikram class.
I can only recommend you get into that hot room as soon as possible and witness the benefits yourself.

The other day my Bikram teacher Jessica came up to me, after class and complimented me on my progress. She said she could really see how I was gaining strength. Wow it was so nice to hear that it's not only me noticing the changes... And I might add, my husband also keeps saying how amazingly fit I look (and he has to look at me every day) so I guess that is also a big selling point. Right enough said. Get into a Bikram class and experience for yourself.

These are the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises lasting exactly 90 minutes.

This is the goal... I didn't even know this was possible with the human body. Incredible.

INSPIRATION #9 TM

Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream...

The word is meditation!! Turning your attention within and getting comfortable with yourself from the inside and out. There is unbounded potential and power deep within each of us. And we can access that power into our lives through meditation. I will almost go as far as saying it is our duty as members of the human race to explore this potential.

Why live a stressed out, fearful life when you can live a wise, peaceful and joyful life?

We have all heard them, these funny little lines that points to the direction of inner knowledge. You know them: Know thy self - The kingdom of heaven lies within, Peace starts with you etc. But it isn't until you give yourself the experience of the inner realm that it begins to mean something deeper to you.

TM is the most scientifically proven form of meditation practice we know of. It stems from India and its founder was Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1914–2008). TM achieved global reach in the 1960s and continues to expand powerfully spearheaded by film-maker David Lynch, quantum physicist John Hagelin and Clint Eastwood to name a few.

Transcendental Meditation technique is a simple, natural, effortless process
practiced 15–20 minutes twice daily while sitting comfortably with eyes closed.
It is unique among techniques of meditation, distinguished by its effortlessness,
naturalness and profound effectiveness.

I am so grateful for my masters teaching me to look within. Writers, poets and not least spiritual teachers. TM (Transcendental Meditation) is such a simple practice and is now taught all over the world, thanks to the TM organization and people like David Lynch working hard to spread it as far as possible, making an immense change in the schools and in children's lives, even in prisons, homeless people's centers and now also training military veterans suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

The benefits are widely documented and scientifically proven. I will just highlight a few of the best ones. Transcendental Meditation:

• Gives the body peace to regenerate and attain maximum rest

• Regenerates the brain functioning (basically improves your focus, attention, memory, thinking etc)

• Boosts your confidence, empathy and relationships (basically makes you more happy)

• Activates the unified field (the sea of pure consciousness) which brings unbounded creative potential into your life.

The only objection I have to TM is why it has to be so expensive.
TM should be government financed and be part of the school curriculum.
It should be made available to anyone wishing to meditate.

You can read much more about TM and how to learn the technique here:
tm.org

ENJOY!!

INSPIRATION #8 John & Yoko

When it comes to world class peace activism I can't think of a better example than John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Just turn your mind back to the late sixties when John and Yoko started using their position of being in the public eye to spread positive peace messages.

Needless to say they attracted a mammoth sized media zest that has captivated generations. Perhaps mainly due to John's popularity from being a member of the Beatles. It is inspirational to this day and deeply touching the way they used their success to campaign for peace.

Think only of their honeymoon Bed-Ins of 1969 singing "Give Peace A Chance" surrounded by the world press. Later that year the "WAR IS OVER" Christmas slogan campaigns appeared. And by the time we heard John Lennon's beautiful testament to world peace "Imagine" everyone was sold.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Yoko Ono for Glass Magazine (the article is featured in the Promise issue out now) and it was like a dream come true. Her dedication to the cause of peace is simple but fierce. A true inspiration.

She explained that when she witnessed the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki she was only a little girl. However the impact of that moment was all encompassing. It displayed human cruelty, so obscene, that peace became the only answer, the only truly important resolution for human survival. Something worth "fighting" for. Throughout her staggering life and artistic career Yoko Ono's motivation has remained the same; that of wanting to see the human race survive in good faith, as for the good of all living things on this planet.

Her Imagine Peace Tower near Reykjavík, Iceland bears evidence of her simple philosophy. Ono created the tower in memory of John. It consists of a tower of light projected into the sky from a white stone monument where the words "Imagine Peace" are carved into it in 24 languages. Buried underneath the light tower are 500,000 written wishes that Ono has gathered from people across the globe over the past 20 years. With such a breathtaking beacon of hope shooting into the universe for peace, reminding us of humanity’s immense creative and magical potential, Yoko Ono at the age of 77 proves the optimist. And shows us that you have to keep fighting for what you believe in.

Who knows what kind of work John would have been involved in today had he been around. Im positive he would have continued alongside Yoko spreading messages of peace, love and hope to the people.

All there's left to say is: Thank you John for all you gave. Thank you Yoko for all you are giving.

See more at Imagine Peace

INSPIRATION #7 Deepak Chopra

Deepak Chopra is an inspirational spiritual teacher and health guru within ayurvedic mind-body medicine. He has written over 50 books published worldwide. He founded the Chopra Center and the Chopra Foundation and has his own radio show broadcasted on Sirius xm.

I'd like to recommend two titles of the Chopra's books I've read. He is a productive and prolific writer and there is a long list of amazing books to chose from. However the first one I'd like to mention is The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

This is a fairly thin book, a practical guide to fulfillment of your dreams... for any beginner. For anyone wishing to get the most out of their lives and see their desires and heart fulfilled.
It could also be called the seven spiritual laws of life. The book concerns the knowledge of consciousness, it gives you the ability to create unlimited wealth with effortless ease, and to experience success in every endeavor.

I've found it very exciting to wake up to a practical list of how to fulfill my desires every day. Committing to follow the principles in this book is something we can all do and will all benefit from. I wont reveal more at this point.. just read it is all I can say!

The Way Of The Wizard

A wizard exists in all of us.
This wizard sees and knows everything.
The wizard is beyond opposites of light and dark, good and evil, pleasure and pain.
Everything the wizard sees has its roots in the unseen world.
Nature reflects the mood of the wizard.
The body and the mind may sleep, but the wizard is always awake.
The wizard possesses the secret of immortality.

Just a small sample from the book, The Way of The Wizard. I love the way Chopra has used the legend of the boy Arthur who lived with the last wizard Merlin in a crystal cave receiving the wisdom of alchemy as a child, stepping into the realm of magic and legends when the boy becomes King Arthur of  Camelot.

This book is a transient read... It succeeds in transcending legend. I actually cried when I reached the end of this book. It felt like I was receiving the holy grail (with the knights in the forest) when Merlin, the last wizard shows (or talks) about the true meaning of the holy grail, of alchemy, of turning base metal into gold. Beautiful. The story is one of mythology. It is the ultimate hero story that all of us can follow and relate to. It really resonates with my heart and just thinking about it makes me want to read it again.
Being in the company of Merlin is as comforting as intense.

When the student is ready the teacher will appear, and when the teacher is
ready the Master will appear, and when the Master is complete he will look no
further because he will have arrived at the beginning and realized that he was a
Wizard all along.

I just found this youtube series online: The Crystal Cave where Deepak Chopra talks about the Way of the Wizard and the legend of Merlin and King Arthur of Camelot. ENJOY!!
